Here are your nominees for Assistant Commission
Jim Gilligan / Riptide
Hello, I'm Jim Gilligan and have been your Assistant Commissioner for the past 3 seasons. As a father of a gay son and having a gay best friend, I am a strong Ally of the LGBTQ+ Community. I've marched in countless RI Pride parades, have attended as many league events as I possibly can, and will always defend the LGBTQ+ community both inside and outside of this league. I’ve been a RCSL member in good standing for 15 seasons, been to 8 iPRIDE Softball Gay World Series, and dozens of national iPRIDE Softball tournaments representing our league in support of the community. For the past 3 seasons as Assistant Commissioner, I have been preparing the fields for play every Sunday at 730 AM with bases, balls, mats, flags, and raking when necessary and then returning to the fields at 3pm to return all our supplies to the storage facility. I've also ensured that our standings in Quickscores are updated as soon as possible by retrieving scores on a timely basis from your coaches by the end of the day on Sunday. I've been a fierce defender of our Code of Conduct that I produced as former Player Liaison over 10 years ago. I have a zero tolerance for obvious violations including the inaccurate reporting of player LGBTQ+ statuses. In fact, in conjunction with our commissioner, any player(s) and/or teams who were obviously falsifying their LGBTQ+ statuses were simply not invited back to this league. Not too long ago, this league was roughly 60% non-LGBTQ, but now under our leadership, it's almost 70% LGBTQ+! This is how our commissioner was able to get interest back from the other 2 New England iPRIDE Softball Leagues to form a partnership in the now annual New England Cup tournament that I believe will expand to 2 days next season. Finally, after serving on this league's Board of Directors for what will be 12 seasons next year, our commissioner will be retiring as will all that experience of running this league successfully. It's imperative that we have an Assistant Commissioner with 7-years of Board experience to assist our new commissioner after next season to help ensure her/his or their success. Please vote JIM GILLIGAN for Assistant Commissioner for another 2 years! Thank you for your support.

Chad Romblad / Cruisers
Hello Friends! My name is Chad Romblad and I am running for the position of Assistant Commissioner for RCSL. For those of you that don’t know me, I absolutely love slow pitch softball! I’ve been involved in softball for over 25 years, playing and coaching in various leagues, until I found RCSL in 2014. I’ve been a player on multiple teams in the league starting with Wildcats, then Renegades, now Cruisers. I simply love RCSL and NAGAA softball! I played one season in the Suncoast Softball League. I participated in numerous NAGAA tournaments throughout the years in various cities: Atlanta, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Denver, NY, etc. I also played in the NAGAA World Series in Dallas in 2022. I’ve had health issues the past few years, which has limited me from traveling as much, but I’ve been able to continue playing. I also started umpiring this year in RCSL. In addition to on-the-field qualifications, I feel that I have ample off-the-field qualifications, as well. I have proven this by earning my Master of Science in Accounting and becoming a Certified Public Accountant. I’m currently employed at a large national bank in the tax department, where I am responsible and organized. I will have no problem handling the requirements of the position based on my ability to be calm in fast-paced environments and having a structured approach to complex challenges. I am committed to seeing RCSL succeed now and in the future and would like to see the number of players and teams grow! I can only hope to continue the hard work the current/previous Board Members have done for this league. Please consider voting Chad for Assistant Commissioner
